English term or phrase:touch downs
GOS Storage comprises all kind of storage needed for the office - open units, cabinets, cubes, touch downs and trolleys - mobile, free-standing or wall mounted. The variety of the series, the wide range of finishes and sizes makes GOS Storage a popular choice for offices with a large number of work stations, it is, however, equally suitable for smaller offices.
Final comment (for the time being, at least): an open unit, I think, is a piece of shelving without doors, whereas a cabinet is a piece of shelving with doors.
A "touch down," apparently, refers to a bench, table, or shelf that has no wheels, possibly used primarily by people who are transient (transients = visitors/consultants/temporary workers): http://www.architonic.com/pmpro/search/touchdown/2/2/1
I agree with Raul that the expression "touchdown" or "touch down" sometimes refers to a workspace, while other times it refers to a piece of furniture. However, in this case, the original text is specifically referring ONLY to furniture.
Estoy de acuerdo con Raúl.
"Touch down areas create additional workspace, enabling consultants to plug in for short periods of time. These individual desks feature easy access with one data and electrical outlet. Located alongside the work benches to create an inclusive layout, these touch downs are backed with high curved screens to separate the corridor from the main office"
