Después de romperme los sesos buscando el significado de 'float', al fin he encontrado una definición que parece coincidir con el contexto en el que me estoy moviendo (software para un casino). La definición está clara, pero, ¿alguna idea del equivalente en castellano? Ya he mirado en el glosario de Proz pero ninguna opción es apta para este contexto.

No sé si puede ser esto. Como se trata de un software, busqué en el glosario Palabras y locuciones de uso frecuente en computación. Este es el significado que da.
También dice: floating add: suma con punto flotante

entiendo que la pregunta no es sobre un término de soft; en Arg. se lo llamaría cambio, que en los casinos es una suma determinada y fija y en los comercios es lo que el cajero pudo conseguir
