En un documento sobre comunicaciones corporativas para USA, no encuentro un término específico adecuado para "tasting" salvo una traducción descriptiva... Aquí va el contexto.

Hooking, a.k.a. tasting, is leaving a little taste of something you’ve said, so the reporter will want to ask you a follow up question. Some easy hooks are analyst research and studies.
