Ernesto, es un tipo de lotería y en todo el mundo se la conoce por su nombre original.Es algo parecido a la
"Lotto",de origen italiano y conocida en todas partes así.
"Lotería Global Online-Sweepstakes":
una lotería global en línea donde los miembros semanalmente hacen sus apuestas a la lotería Seepstakes.
El significado primero de "sweepstake"
era "a horse race in which the total stakes put up by competitors go to the winner" and "a method of gambling on a race in which the money put on by those taking part is shared among those who draw the horses running first,second and third "swéep-stakes".
La última acepción del Webster es ésta:
"any of various LOTTERIES or CONTESTS
FOR PRIZES"
stake = apuesta
stakes = premio (sing.)
sweep= arrasar(con),ganar de una manera
aplastante.

Es decir, si se traduce literalmente,
"sweepstakes" significa "arrasar con los premios"
Se aconseja no tomar parte en esta lotería porque es considerada como un fraude.

Ernesto, cuando he puesto que es como la Lotto, no me estaba refiriendo a que son loterías similares, sino a que en ambos casos
se las conoce por su nombre original.
