English term or phrase: Put on the spot.

I'm a little stuck on this one. The phrases, "poner en un aprieto" or "hacer sentir incomodo" don't quite have the same flavor as "put on the spot." I'm trying to translate the sentence, "I felt put on the spot", and would like to get the group's opinion on the best translation for it.
