English term or phrase:translation pitch
hi everyone....does anyone know what this means? or has anyone come accross it already?
i've been asked for a translation sample and right at the top of the page (and the file name also) it says translation pitch......i don't need to translate it i suppose but i would love to know what it means as it sounds awful......thanks everyone
maybe i haven't explained properly.....the actual translation is concerning machinery...its a technical translation ok? BUT the page header and the title of the word.doc include this "translation pitch" thing.....what i'm worried is that i have been asked for a test translation for free whilst others have also been asked for (other pages) similar test and in the end all of us will lose out....seeing as the translation pitch thing doesn't seem to have anything to do with the text and seems more like a coding of sorts....doc is named translation_pitch_sample_text_(followed by a number).doc.....this seems strange and i wondered if anyone else had come across anything similar...thanks again
oh, indeed...apologies..forgot to change the direction from last query....i don't mind what the answer is in.....but i'd like to know the meaning.....(i have my doubts as to the seriousness of this test translation!!!)thanks
Explanation: this link refers to music, but the term is related to the intervals in translation, suppose oral, but also written, with interjections, exclamations and changes in tone regarding translation
The time interval for translation of example 49a is one quarter note while for 49b it is two quarters. The interval of pitch translation for both 49a and 49b is a perfect fourth, or five semitones. Such operations can involve many other parameters, such as dynamics, rhythm, tempo, etc.
