disagree  caere: Soy geólogo y nunca escuche hablar de barlovento o sotavento en el fondo de la plataforma continental donde no hay vientos como bien dice Álvaro. Sería más correcto hablar de en dirección de la pendiente o en dirección contraria a la pendiente.

Explanation:
Sería muy importante tener algo de contexto como para dar una respuesta más ajustada. Sin duda no es sotavento o barlovento come sugiere Smartranslations ya que no hay vientos allá abajo, si corrientes, pero no siempre están controladas por la pendiente del fondo.
