No, por lo que entiendo de la oración no puedes usar "de hecho".
Discúlpame que tal vez la explicación no sea tan "gramatical" como debiera, pero aquí tienes un sujeto "all" y una cantidad de modificadores del sujeto, a saber:
1. Tanakas's military background
2. his criticism of the government's China policy
3. and the fact that ... the political parties

Entonces, cada uno de estos modificadoreses una frase nominal que debes traducir como tal. Si pones "de hecho" no es lo mismo, le cambias el sentido.

Espero haber sido clara. Tal vez algún colega más versado en gramática pueda explicártelo más claramente.

Asker: La idea que plantea Marina56 era la que tenía en mente, pero entonces quedaría: ...y de hecho despúes de que se había disipado el furor por el sufragio... en 1925, ... creo que no se pierde la idea o sí? saludos
