A mi entender no se trata de "claim" en el sentido de una declaración, sino de una afirmación que no se fundamenta ni documenta con información.

Por ejemplo, cosas como que la globalización aumenta la pobreza, que la superficie forestada del planeta se está reduciendo y otras cosas creídas como verdades por la mayoría de la población tras el bombardeo sistemático de información por grupos de opinión.

La "biblia" del desmontaje de este tipo de afirmaciones no fundamentadas en el ámbito del medio ambiente es, para mi gusto, "The skeptical environmentalist", del danés Bjørn Lomborg. Toda una demostración de cómo funcionan las "blanket claims" en nuestra sociedad actual y de por qué debemos estar alerta ante quien nos diga que algo muy grave está ocurriendo o va ocurrir sin darnos datos estudiados con un mínimo de seriedad.

Perdón, en mi primera frase quise decir que NO creo que sea una "reclamación" o un "reclamo", en el sentido de alguien que exige una compensación por algo mal hecho.
