English term or phrase: A seasoned group
Under the left-of-centre government of Hernán Siles Suazo, following the demise of Meza’s government, Barbie was eventually expelled from Bolivia in February 1983 to face trial in France for crimes against humanity. A *seasoned group* of women and men was already keenly aware of such activity.

disagree  Cinnamon Nolan: In Spanish, this could mean an elderly group, a group of older individuals.

Explanation:
Using this term lets you skip the "familiarizado".

"Un experimentado grupo " is also good, or "un grupo ducho".
