English to Spanish translations [PRO] History | | English term or phrase: at the cost of war | ¡¡Hola a todos!!
Estoy traduciendo un capítulo del libro de "Scramble of Africa", concretamente el capítulo 28, y me ha surgido una duda justo en la primera línea. Allá va:
'We ought - even at the cost of war - to keep the hinterland of the Gold Coast, Lagos and the Niger territories... I do not think we ought to yield a jot of threats.'
Mi intento es el siguiente:
“Deberíamos, incluso a pesar del coste de la guerra/ aunque suponga iniciar una guerra, defender/proteger las zonas del interior de la Costa de Oro, Lagos y los territorios de Níger… No creo que debamos ceder ante la mínima amenaza”.
