No se me ocurre nada más breve. Lo que quiere decir es que la persona que lleva a cabo la entrevista debe darse cuenta si la persona que está entrevistando, en algún momento, dice algo que no tiene nada que ver con lo que estaban hablando. En España diríamos que se fue por las ramas.
