En el caso de los pequeños Edipos que andan por ahí. En lenguaje coloquial, los jóvenes usan mucho "mandilón", que da la idea de vivir afianzado al mandil de la madre.
Con un sentido más general, como propone Juan Jacob, usamos mucho "a la sombra de".
