English term or phrase:hit the stream
Hola:
En un documental sobre cantautores norteamericanos, David Crosby dice lo siguiente sobre James Taylor. Se refiere a la primerva vez que le oyó tocar/cantar:
"The first thing I thought about James Taylor was gee, I wish I could do that. When people like that would show up and hit the stream they'd make an eddy, that's for damn sure."
Es para subtítulos, así que ha de ser breve. Esto es lo que se me ocurre, pero no me acaba de convencer:
Cuando gente así
aparecía y golpeaba la corriente,
causaba un torbellino.
También se me había ocurrido algo como "subía a/entraba en escena". ¿Qué os parece?
Montse, me gusta mucho tu idea de conservar la metáfora al traducir la frase, con lo de 'golpear la corriente'... muy bien... no lo cambiaría a algo literal, para nada, que se perdería algo.
