English term or phrase: Daily soap
Hi, colleagues!

I want to know what this means. I do not believe it is about a "soap opera" in this context:

"Facebook is the daily soap".

It could be, but I am not sure, could it mean something else, like "daily bread", for instance?

Thank you very much in advance!

Spanish translation:la telenovela (nuestra) de todos los días
Explanation:
Daily soap is short for daily soap opera

Telenovela may be not the exact equivalent, but I actually heard people saying this phrase in spanish :D

Saludos
Wolfgang

Thank you very much, you are right. I ended up realizing this is what it meant. I decided to go for "el culebrón diario".

el cuento de cada dia

Explanation:
Conozco la expresión "el cuento de cada dia" o "el mismo cuento de cada dia". Se refiere a algo que se repite constantemente y puede tener connotaciones cansinas.

Notes to answerer
Asker: ¡Muchas gracias! No creo que se trate de eso, porque el autor considera que Facebook alimenta el hambre de emociones que tiene todo el mundo. Quizá con más contexto hubieras podido ayudarme mejor, ¡lo siento por la parte que me toca! Al final lo traduje como "el culebrón diario". Un saludo.
