I don't know how to translate or whether the word "collective" should be translated in the following sentence:
"That the king's admonition touched a ***collective*** nerve was evident in newspaper headlines, cable television and on YouTube."
The article is about the not-too-friendly encounter between the Spanish King and Chavez during the Iberoamerican Summit in 2007 where Juan Carlos said to the Venezuelan leader "¿Por qué no te callas?".
