(5) Severance Amount. In the event MANAGER is terminated by EMPLOYER for any reason other than for Cause (as defined below) and MANAGER signs a severance agreement and general release of all claims against EMPLOYER in the form presented to MANAGER at the time of termination, MANAGER shall be entitled to receive a severance amount (the “Severance Amount”) equal to one year of Base Pay plus an amount equal to the lesser of (a) the three year average of Bonus payments that MANAGER received during EMPLOYER’S immediately preceding three fiscal years.

I understand the concept, but I cannot come up with a good and short rendition. Thanks for your help!
