I agree with Robert, expecially without knowing the target country and its particular legaleze for the concept, a generalized solution to a generalization in the source text is the right answer. Besides which, 'preventiva' is the technical term under the laws of Spain and of Mexico for one specific interpretation of the Query term, anyway. Best of luck in all you do!

Many thanks for your help. the context that I have is the following: this is a clause of a power of attorney granted to some lawyers. One of their tasks is to commence embargoes, deposits, eviction, preventive orders and requests intervention or any measure for prevention or guarantee. It seems to me that this is a translation of some language into English because it doesn't seem so natural to me.

Yep, Richard exactly my point, there are so many terms to be used as Daniel below points out. Although I do disagree with him saying orden preventiva is hardly existent, be it in Google or wherever. It is a vague and general answer to a vague and general question.

As Robert says, we need more context to be sure that we're helping. I've seen 'preventiva' used often in legal documents of some countries, including Mexican law, in the sense that I perceive from the Query term, but the legalese expression for this concept could vary among the other suggested terms and more, according to the phrasing in the laws of many given target countries. More context, please.
