English to Spanish translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Law: Contract(s)
English term or phrase:mills
Contexto:
"To build, construct, alter, maintain, enlarge, pull down, remove or replace and to work, manage and control any buildings, offices, factories, ***mills***, shops, machinery, engines, roadways, railway-sidings, bridges, reservoirs, water-houses, wharf, electric works and other works and conveniences which may seem calculated directly or indirectly to advance the interest of the Company".
Gracias de antemano,
Explanation: There are few (if any) things in the source text list that are very relevant to IT. It's clear that the author is simplying covering all possibilities with an all-inclusive clause.
In the list of items, what seems to be missing is premises that serve to 'process' materials (as distinct from places where goods are 'made' - factories), often called 'mills' in English or, in similarly general terms in Spanish: 'plantas'
mill1
(n.) = fábrica textil, fábrica de tejidos de algodón
Ex: To be sure, it still has its congeries of mills and factories, its grimy huddle of frame dwellings and congested tenements, its stark, jagged skyline, but its old face is gradually changing.
