Queridos colegas,

más dudas sobre la sintaxis. Desde luego se trata de un contrato redactado de forma horrible.

"Any use of authorised photographs, biographies and materials must be approved by XXXXXX, except where media relations activity will result in editorial which by its nature can not be approved."

Mi problema es el final de la frase, a partir de "Except". Lo que yo entiendo es que el uso de todo ese material ha de ser autorizado por XXXX, EXCEPTO cuando la actividad de los medios resulte ser EDITORIAL. Este caso, debido a su naturaleza, no puede ser aprobado (supongo que por razones de publicación, derechos, etc.)

Editorial? Publicación en libros?

Creo que me estoy armando un lío monumental :-) Alguien puede echarme un cable?

si la empresa en cuestion quiere presentar una foto o escribir la bografia de un ejecutivo para su propio website, estas tienen que ser aprobadas. Ahora, si entrega un kit de prensa a un diario, por ej, no puede pedirles revisar la nota o las fotos que este piensa publicar sobre las actividades de la empresa

If editorial is a noun, it would need the article 'an'. If it is an adjective, it would need a noun to modify. As the sentence stands, you are quite right that it doesn't make sense.
