English term or phrase: J$200
We noted a proposal by xxx to increase its authorized
share capital from J$200 via the conversion of a loan
amount (J$10,751,675,811 at 31 December 2006) to equity.
Should the current loan amount be converted accordingly,
the company would incur stamp duty at the rate of 1% on
the increase in value of the share capital (or
J$107,516,756). If incurred, this stamp duty charge would
be a tax cost to xxxx given that it would be capital in
nature
