Notarios "Scriveners" Explanation: Existe en Londres una rama del notariado que se denomina «scriveners» y que son notarios públicos que deben especializarse en un idioma extranjero. De hecho hacen las veces en el Reino Unido de los traductores jurados. El argumento en contra de estos «scriveners», que tienen muchos traductores jurados españoles, es que muchos de ellos son nativos ingleses y no son ellos mismos capaces de traducir al español; lo que hacen es contratar a buenos traductores españoles. Las traducciones se cotejan, pero es el notario el que certifica la traducción como si él mismo la hubiese realizado y así el documento es válido ante las autoridades hispanas.
