Is this right?

"Podrá hablar con su abogado antes de declararse."

Or is "entering a plea" the same as declararse or is it "registrar su declaracion."

In case it is the defendant's answer to a charge, the translation would be:

Puede hablar con su abogado antes de declararse culpable o inocente.

I think you need the "culpable o inocente".
