... petition shall be granted according to the laws of the requested State.

I have come across this term several times. The meaning is clear.

Should I use one word to translate "requested"?

I don't like " Estado demandado".
On the other hand, "Estado al que se ha hecho la solicitud" seems so long...
Any suggestions?

Si estás hablando de exhortos o peticiones de un país a otro mediante los órganos judiciales se le dice requirente al que solicita la medida y requerido al páis que debe hacer cumplir la medida que solicita el requirente.

Eas importante tener en cuenta que cuando se habla de relaciones entre paises en asuntos de derecho (especialmente en derecho internacional) se habla de Estados y no de países.

neutral  Pablo Tarantino: Si es un exhorto no necesariamente es interrogado. Tal vez sólo se le pida que informe el saldo de una cuenta pero hay que seguir un procedimiento formal por tratarse de Estados distintos
