Después de haber revisado algunos documentos (en su mayor parte teológicos) y diccionarios de latín, concluyo que la traducción más cercana es la que propongo.

Al 3° que *la existencia de la verdad* en general es conocida por sí misma; pero la existencia de la verdad primera no es una cosa que sea conocida por sí misma con relación a nosotros.
