I think the product itself is essentially humus which has had its own dust (fine particles, the microscopic component) removed. The product in turn binds dust from other substances e.g. if it is mixed with straw (which would create its own dust).

Ok, so they refer to "partículas de material orgánico" and the screen period was carried out "in the look" for these particles, because they help the product to absorb dust (later it is said to be dust-binding)

That the fine particles were part of the original humus. So they are essentially the same, but just the smallest pieces of it. I obviously wasn't very clear :-(

That is EXACTLY what I think it means! No humus... because the product actually absorbs dust and odours, so I guess during the tryout period it was screened to determine the presence and eliminate any "particles" it may have...So that refers to small particles... Thanks a lot!

I presume it's to remove dust which might cause respiratory problems.

Thank you for your help, but I found that "humus" is the same ("humus") in Spanish:

So, I am not sure if "fine substances" refers to "material orgánico" in general or to very small/ excellent substances.
