English term or phrase: "thumbs up"
I would need to know if there is a specific expression for this phrase in Spanish (Spain).
The sentence reads:
That's why "The Quiet One" is getting a big thumbs up.

As far as I know, there is no expression for thumbs up, only "aprobación" or "señal de aprobación", but as it is a marketing sentence, may be you can help me finding something more "punching". Thanks guys!!!

recibe un diez
Explanation:
Hi, my suggestion is a term we use frequently in Spain. "Recibe un diez" means it gets the highest possible grade (as in school grades).

You could also say: "recibe la aprobación generalizada del público", but that's a bit long
Hope to have been of some help.

Muchísimas gracias a todos!! Todas vuestras sugerencias fueron muy útiles, pero lamentablemente solo puedo elegir una. Yo lo había traducido como "aceptación" pero el cliente me pidió algo más impactante y opté por la "calificación escolar" :)

Sólo una sugerencia

Explanation:
¿Por qué no pruebas con algo menos literal? Algo así como "está causando sensación".

Espero que te ayude.

llevarse la palma

Explanation:
There are many possibilities.
It seems the ad is talking about a vacum cleaner or something with a motor that should not make much noise.

Pick your choice:

el que se lleva la palma
el triunfador
el que cosecha laureles
el que queda señor del campo
el que canta victoria

I prefer the first one suggested. It comes from our great Greek and Roman heritage!

Explanation:

Because it is a marketing comment, I think tha "getting the best welcome" would be the best translation in this case. I also like "es el (o la) que se gana un 10" which is more colloquial,as someone else suggested. The only problem with colloquialisms is that they are not that universal, and there are 20 countries that speak Spanish...and in some countries 1 could be the best instead of 10.
Good luck !

la vista buena

Explanation:
Or is it visto bueno?! Never mind, that's a standard expression for 'indicating approval'. Thumbs up means that first, rather than 'the tops', No.1'.
