En el siguiente texto tengo dudas acerca de lo que significa "release", en el contexto de una empresa de producción de medios de radiodifusión y los "talentos" que emplea.

Me parece que en este caso se refiere a que los subcontratistas deben aceptar que su trabajo formará parte del proyecto global de la empresa que los contrata y que por lo tanto no podrán exigir otros derechos (monetarios o de otro tipo) posteriormente. Para ello, deben firmar efectivamente un documento en donde se indique expresamente todas estas condiciones.

Hola, me olvidé de sugerirte esta otra opción.

Creo que también podría tratarse de la "transferencia temporal de talentos", por ejemplo cuando una persona ya está afiliada para ofrecer sus servicios a otra compañía, como los pases que se dan en los equipos de fútbol.

La referencia de "them" en la oración en cuestión viene de "our production companies" y "their" se refiere a las empresas y sus "releases" son los resultados/producciones/etc.

Parece que el "talent release" es una fórmula habitual en el lenguaje de la contratación de actores y modelos para TV y publicidad (talents) aunque desconozco si en español se les llama talentos a secas.
