Explanation:
"Segunda etapa" da la idea de algo consecutivo. Con "second wave" se trata de dar la idea de "otra forma de". Este uso aparece con el libro "La tercera ola"/"The Third wave" de Alvin Toffler.
En el caso de no querer usar "segunda ola", me parece más apropiado "segunda era".
