English to Spanish translations [PRO] Marketing - Marketing / Market Research / Paper on Ankylosing Spond | | English term or phrase: tail-cutting / cutting-off-the-tail | Hi!
I wonder if someone can help me here. I'm translating a Product Portfolio Optimization document.
The context is:
4. Tail-Cutting/cutting-off-the-tail of products
To do a review of the current product code information: Product Name, Product code description, pressure, water volume, volume/mass gas capacity. Consider the XXX global standard product range e. g. for shielding gases; all changes should bring us closer to the standard range.
Find substitutes – this can be possible even for high sales products
All low selling Product codes should be questioned. It should be taken into account if there is an alternative product available or not.
Product with no sale in the last year will be disabled after PP committee approval.
Trend analysis should be considered in order to find substitutes or product disable.
------
I understand "tail-cutting" or "cutting-off-the-tail" means "getting rid of slow-selling items in the
portfolio", but I don't know if there's an already-existing term/phrase used in Spanish to express this.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks and happy holidays! |

Asker: Hi Mercedes,
Before posting the question, I had already seen this source. In fact, the source text only says "tail-cutting" and I added "cutting of the tail" because it was similar and gave you guys more chances to help me.
The problem with this translation is it applies to insurance and not to products.
Thanks so much for trying to help, though!
