Medical - Medical: Instruments / Apósitos | | English term or phrase: blind bore | Hola colegas: necesito ayuda con esta expresión en referencia a tubos o conductos por los que se irriga o drena una herida. Algunos de los ejemplos en los que aparece en el texto son:
The pipes, tubes or tubules extending from the inlet pipe(s) and/or outlet pipe(s) at the point at which they pass through and/or under the wound-facing face of the backing layer to run over the wound bed may have a blind bore with perforations, apertures, holes, openings, orifices, slits or slots along the pipes, etc.
Manifoids are annular or toroidal (regular, e.g. elliptical or circular, or irregular), optionally with blind-bore, perforated radial tubes, pipes or nozzles, branching from the annulus or torus.
Yo interpreto que se refiere a que los tubos son huecos (tienen un "bore") y que sus extremos están tapados ("blind") y que tienen perforaciones a lo largo para irrigar o extraer líquidos de la herida (según se trate de inlet o outlet pipes). No sé si estaré en lo correcto. Pero al tener en otras partes del texto perforations, orifices, etc. no se me ocurre qué poner en este caso. Pensé en "calibre", pero "calibre ciego" no me suena muy bien. Todo aporte será bienvenido :)) ¡Muchas gracias! |
