Como te comenté, las antiguas pipetas mecánicas se accionaban utilizando solamente el pulgar, tanto para aspirar y expulsar el líquido como para eyectar las puntas. Al cabo de un período prolongado de trabajo, esto producía molestias, y a la larga, podía ocasionaba el síndrome del túnel carpiano.
Las pipetas modernas, mecánicas o electrónicas, tienen botones mucho más suaves y se accionan haciendo participar todos los dedos de la mano, lo que reduce la carga del pulgar.
