Significativo es perfectamente correcto, porque tiene el sentido de significación. Sin embargo, puedes emplear varios sinónimos:
1) considerable, aprecaible, pronunciado, sintomático, revelador, representativo (Diccionario de dudas de Navarro)
2) También añado yo: importante, grave
Si "clinical significance" se traduce a menudo como "importancia clínica", me parece adecuado traducir "significant" por "importante" en algunos casos. También "a significant risk factor"= un factor de riesgo importante
