El PRF (Pulse Repetición Frecuency) usado en los radares meteorológicos están entre los 200 a 1000 pulsos por segundo, los correspondientes períodos de repetición entre 1ms y 5 ms. El PRF es establecido en el oscilador o generador de pulso que produce el sincronismo (trigger). La frecuencia a la cual el pulso será transmitido está determinada por la máxima distancia que el radar podrá detectar un blanco.
