"Se ha estudiado la inmunogenicidad de las vacunas contra la difteria, tétanos, pertusis y polio oral en 1.408 niños sanos de los cuales 677 (Grupo I)
recibieron las vacunas DTP-polio oral a los 2, 4 y 6 meses, y además la vacuna contra la hepatitis B (HB) a los 0, 2 y 6 meses, haciendo coincidir la 2ª y 3ª dosis de vacuna contra la HB con la 1ª y 3ª dosis de vacuna DTP-polio oral. Los 731 niños restantes del total (Grupo II) recibieron únicamente las vacunas DTP y polio oral a los 2, 4 y 6 meses de edad."

Hi Issa,

you can certainly use Pertussis if this is going to be read by doctors and medical staff in general BUT people won't understand it unless they have a medical culture. The popular term (and used by doctors when talking to people) is "tos ferina".

It's not easy to disagree with the almost omniscient Oso. But this time the reference he provides is at odds with the DRAE, which makes very clear it's a 2 word expression...
