El ácido folínico (se suele decir folinic acid en inglés) se utiliza en la terapéutica del cáncer, asociado a 5-FU (fluorouracilo). Creo que debe de ser a lo qeu te refieres, como dice Goodwords.
El ácido fólico se da en anemias por déficit de ácido fólico (de forma preventiva en el embarazo, p. ej), en la hiperhomocisteinemia...
