Pero tenía dudas pues acá em Estados Unidos lo había visto escrito en documentos en español igual que en inglés pero con tildes. ( ???? )

Nada nuevo, sólo para agregar esta definición que tal vez le resulte útil:
" Hemaféresis
Es el proceso de extraer un componente de la sangre del donante y regresar los componentes que no se necesitan. Este proceso emplea la circulación continua de la sangre de un donante a través de un aparato y luego regresa al donante. También hace posible extraer un elemento deseado de grandes volúmenes de sangre. Se pueden extraer selectivamente plaquetas, glóbulos rojos, glóbulos blancos o plasma. Por ejemplo, esta técnica permite extraer suficientes plaquetas para una transfusión as partir de un sólo donante (en vez de seis u ocho donantes individuales). De este modo, el receptor de las plaquetas está expuesto a menos donantes o puede recibir plaquetas compatibles en cuanto al HLA de un único donante emparentado. Esta técnica también se usa para obtener células progenitoras de sangre circulante, las cuales se pueden congelar, almacenar y usar posteriormente para un trasplante de células progenitoras."
