Como características morfológicas de la cuarta etapa embrionaria: Surco neural y cresta neural: invaginación de la placa neural el día 18 resulta en la formación del surco neural. Los bordes laterales de la placa forman los pliegues neurales, que se une en la línea media en la medida que el surco neural se profundiza. El borde de cada pliegue se conoce como cresta neural, etc. Plegado, si es el acto de plegar; y pliegue si se refiere al sustantivo o pliegue que se forma, no plegamiento, que es más apropiado para un ¡camión articulado!
