Medical - Medical (general)
English term or phrase: ambulatory (in context)
Hola,
este es el contexto:

There are pharmaceutical records of patients treated with biological agents not only of outpatients but also of ambulatory ones.

the main difference seems to be that "ambulatory care" involves the patient not being admitted to hospital overnight, but being treated in one calendar day.

however,
you would think it would make more sense with "inpatients" instead of "outpatients".

Reference: In a hospital setting or not

Reference information:
As I understand it, 'outpatients' always refers to care at hospitals (whether it is just a consultation or a procedure that does not require staying overnight)

Ambulatory care is not in a hospital setting and it can refer to a 'virtual ward' where the patient remains at home. These new virtual wards have been piloted mainly to avoid emergency admissions.
