Tech/Engineering - Metallurgy / Casting
English term or phrase: clad membrane
On floors constructed with three inch tubes on four inch centers, transverse cracking in the 304L clad membrane, like
that shown in Fig. 1, is sometimes seen before cracking is found on the tubes. However, cracking is seen on both 2-
1/2 and 3 inch composite tubes, and it is found in both slope-floored and decanting-type recovery boilers.

enchapado, laminadoo, o blindaje

Explanation:
in the 304L clad membrane
"en el enchape de 304L", "el enchapado de 304L"
o
"en la laminacion de 304L", o "en el blindaje de 304L"

304L = is a type of Stainless steel.

The paragraph explain that the tubes have a 304L cladding (are cladded, or have a clad membrane) meaning there is a bonded sheet of 304L shieldind a base metal to protect it.

In metallurgy, cladding is the bonding together of dissimilar metals. It is distinct from welding or gluing as a method to fasten the metals together. Cladding is often achieved by extruding two metals through a die or pressing sheets together under high pressure.

The United States Mint uses cladding to manufacture coins from different metals. This allows a cheaper metal to be used as a filler or inner base.
