Hi all,

I hope you can help me with the term "proxy" in the context of the electrical components of a mill relining machine. The problem is I'm translating the electric and hydraulic schematics, so there's not much text, just labels to indicate what a connector or cable is. Some examples of how proxy shows up in the text:

Valves/proxies
Proxy-inhibit
Forward lift proxy (boom)
Console covered proxy switch
Hitch slew proxy
Machines clash slew limit proxy

I think it might be some sort of proximity warning, but I'm really not sure. Thank you in advance for your help!

agree  slothm: Correcto, no se traduce. Significa que el hombre le da una orden informática a la máquina de forrar automática y la máquina obedece y hace el trabajo. La RAE no acepta el término por ahora pero eventualmente lo hará. No tiene más remedio.
