I've found

surfista

as a proposed translation for this term, but I don't like it.

the complete phrase is:

"but channel surfers find new friends"

it is about mass media.

some ideas?

en el sentido deportivo, la jerga denomina "surfer" como:
surfero, surfeta y surfista.

En tu caso, el sentido es similar al utilizado en casos como internet: navegar (en/por) internet. Por esto, creo que "navegadores" (de canales) es la que se adecua al contexto.
