The opening theme from the original is transformed rhythmically and melodically. The use of syncopation (violin 1), seventh chords (cello), accidentals (violin 1) and ***“swing” treatment*** denotes the exploration of elements of three different musical cultures: western art music, jazz and ”salsa”.
