¿Alguien sabe cuál es la traducción exacta de estos peces? En muchas partes lo encuentro traducido como "sardinas" pero aquí ya se menciona "sardines" antes. Gracias

¡Hola de nuevo Luis!

Por numerosas referencias "pilchard" sería otro nombre para la sardina, que no es un único pez sino que se utiliza para denominar varios que pertenecen a la misma familia, igual que sucede, por poner unos ejemplos, con los meros, los besugos y los sargos.

Te vuelvo a dar referencias de lo que se utiliza en España:

Aquí también se comercializan sardinas de mayor y menor tamaño. Sin embargo, no se suele utilizar la denominación "sardina grande" para la de mayor tamaño, sino que se utiliza "sardinilla" para denominar a la más pequeña. Así pues, si allí existe el mismo uso (por Google veo que en algunos países de América Latina es así), quizá te encaje decir "sardinillas y sardinas".
