cuestionario / adivinanza Explanation: A bit of context would help find the best word to use. |

quiz: (juego de) preguntas y respuestas - brainteaser: rompecocos Explanation: If you would like something on the light side, and I can think of " leisure time" magazines with varied contents such as crossword or other type of puzzles or even riddles, then you should use your creativity. May I suggest: juego de preguntas y respuestas or "preguntas y respuestas" alone, and "rompecocos" for "brainteaser". Good luck. Hugo Bentancor |

quiz = test, prueba Brainteaser= acertijo Explanation: Quiz in Spanish is a plain test (accepted in Spanish) or prueba. Brainteaser is acertijo. Also rompecabezas, but not as in puzzle, but a brain puzzle. Both are called rompecabezas in Spanish. |

test, prueba, acertijo, rompecabezas Explanation: "test" is used also in Spanish for any kind of test or exam, so it could be too neutral, but correct if it's a game of questions and answers; "prueba" is even more vague, but some complement "de..." would give sense to it; "acertijo" is a riddle, or a tricky question, but it should be a single question, not a series of them; "rompecabezas" (not "rompecocos" in Castillian spanish) can be a puzzle -also a jigsaw puzzle- but also a test, in a less formal context, for instance in one of those magazines with crosswords and other kind of tests and riddles. |

prueba, cuestionario, encuesta Explanation: Though no context is really provided for an exact answer I think "cuestionario" o"prueba" are lighter than"examen". For brainteaser,"rompecabezas" could be a good translation if suitable with the context. |

brainteaser= pregunta capciosa Explanation: This is not a literal translation. It could be an 'acertijo' too, when you are looking into a complex scenario. But when it is applied to tests or quizes, it is one of those questions specially formulated to test someone with hard questions or to find out what he/she knows or doesn't know. |
