this is a very wide term relating to any media products that can be downloaded or manipulated online, sound, video and so on. Answer no. 1 is an easy good option, problem is not many people here would have a clue if you use the original term. I would try to explain as much as possible what it involves, that is, what kind of media it is and how it's sent out (so as not be confused with TV or radio,etc,). Above you have my humble version of it...good luck :)

He encontrado 239 sitios en español donde utilizan el término en inglés, con lo cual parece utilizarse con mucha frecuencia, como es el caso de tantos otros términos de este tipo.

Uno de estos sitios lo traduce como "video por internet", pero yo prefiero "streaming media", tal cual.
