English to Spanish translations [PRO] Other | | English term or phrase: "medical claims" | HOLA! no se me ocurre como decir "claims" en este sentido en español. Se refiere a prácticas alternativas de salud.
Unlicensed practitioners risk legal action if they are accused of practicing medicine without a license, and thus must avoid making medical claims for their practice. They can, however, help their clients with "health enhancement." The boundary between medical claims and health enhancement is a judgment call of the local authorities. |
| | Clarification request(s) and responseYasser El Helw: 6:32pm Feb 25, 2007: Practitioners of alternative medicine can "afirmar que tratan o curan enfermedades", they always have! What they can't do is charge insurers and third party payers for the services they provide their patients with. Why? Because they have no license to practice medicine. ariffo: 7:38pm Feb 25, 2007: I disagree, Yasser. Practitioners of alternative medicine can say that their treatment can enhance health and thus -indirectly- help with the patient's ailment, but they cannot promise or make claims up front that their therapy will cure a given disease. I think we have all seen at one time or another such claims "XXX heals cancer!", "Get rid of arthritis with XXX", etc. Yasser El Helw: 8:33pm Feb 25, 2007: It seems that it is I who didn't read the context carefully! I only read the first part. I apologize to Joseph. Joseph Tein: 5:15am Feb 26, 2007: Gracias Lila. Joseph Tein: 5:16am Feb 26, 2007: Quería decir ¡Gracias Lila y Yasser!

| | ... afirmar que tratan o curan enfermedades. | Explanation: Hola otra vez. La primera parte dice que dichas personas no pueden hacerse pasar por médicos. En la última frase, pienso que podrías decir simplemente 'tratamiento médico' = ' La línea divisoria entre el tratamiento médico y el mejoramiento de la salud ... ' |
