El 3 de agosto... Explanation: Hi Cool, A few suggestions, so you actually *get* something out of this beyond *just* a paper: 1. Go back through your text and look for expressions (i.e., parts of sentences, whole sentences) that are the same *shape* as what you want to say. Ex: since you want to say *when* this happened, go find info on that in your book. 2. You obviously will be writing more than just this first sentence, and it looks like the rest will also involve writing in the past. To help you sort this out, let me remind you that *I went* is an action (something you did, from start to finish), whereas *it was hard and tiring* is a description (how you *felt*; the effect it had on you). Reminder: actions are usually written in the preterite; descriptions are usually imperfect. So look those two feature up in your text, find some "sample" sentences, and plug in the info you want to communicate. This may seem slightly long, when you get started, but you've already studied this stuff, and when you see it again, it'll all fall into place. Honest--it isn't all that hard. And the more you do it, the faster and easier it will get. 3. If you don't know how to say something, or aren't sure that you are saying it right, just *don't put it in*!! Your teacher is only going to grade you on the work you actually hand in. S/He can't read your mind and know all the other things you wanted to write, but didn't, after all... 4. If you really want to see what your English text looks like in +/- Spanish, go to: www.freetranslation.com, feed in your English, and it will cough up the Spanish. [Hint: take the Spanish translation, and backtranslate it to English, to get an idea how close the Spanish "translation" actually is to what you meant it to be. Sometimes it does a really good job, other times, the English is more than the poor machine translation's "brain" can handle.] Reference: http://www.freetranslation.com |
