Cuando se trata de denominaciones oficiales o del nombre de fiestas religiosas, su parte genérica (las palabras día, fiesta, domingo...) y su parte específica se escriben con inicial mayúscula: Día del Trabajo (y sus variantes: Fiesta del Trabajo, Primero de Mayo...), Día Mundial contra el Hambre, Día Internacional de la Mujer, Domingo de Resurrección, Día de Acción de Gracias...

Sin embargo, cuando no se trata de denominaciones oficiales o religiosas, sino de otras, debidas a la costumbre o al uso comercial, la parte genérica se escribe con inicial minúscula: día de la Madre, día de San Valentín, día de los Enamorados, día de los Inocentes...
