backing up through sewers or drains on your premises

2) from the main sewer came back up into the houses

La idea es que las alcantarillas se tapan y cuando llueve mucho el agua no escurre por ellas, sino que introduce en las casas. Tal vez la póliza de seguro excluya estos casos.
